Sumit Pandey

I lead Cognite’s Design Studio, defining the vision for agentic industrial products in collaboration with product leadership and the CPO’s office.

Based in Oslo, I have collaborated with teams at Equinor, Kongsberg Digital, Norstat, IBM, VMware, TGS, and D+H.

Tools I’ve designed are used by thousands of operators at major global energy and manufacturing companies, including Celanese, Oxy, NOC, and Idemitsu. I hold a PhD in design from the University of Oslo.

Cognite Design Studio

Building and leading Cognite’s first design studio across Oslo and India to create a portfolio-wide product experience and set a clear vision for our most strategic investments.

Cognite Flows, an agentic experience for industrial work, is now the biggest launch in Cognite history and I was recognised with Cognite’s innovation award.

Cognite Industrial Tools Portfolio Leadership

Worked on a multi-horizon product strategy and roadmap with the cross-functional leadership trio for a portfolio of AI-powered tools supporting reliability and operations in heavy industry.

Cognite APM Suite Strategy and Go-To-Market

Led cross-functional discovery and product definition for Cognite’s Asset Performance Management suite, partnering with sales and product teams to shape scalable go-to-market strategies.

Led a ground-up redesign of Cognite’s flagship maintenance product, aligning the UX with complex data and enterprise operations.

Strategic Product Design at Halogen

Designed and delivered product and service strategy for clients, including Kongsberg Digital, Equinor, Norstat, NoHo Norway, PGS, and SFS. Highlights include: defining early Kognitwin workflows at KDI (contributing to their Shell contract), supporting Equinor’s Yggdrasil initiative, and leading 0-1 product design for Norstat Express.
